The mounting systems shown on this page have been assembled as pre-configured packages to simplify the selection of all of the necessary components needed to support your KDS equipment. All of the individual components are also available separately.
These pre-configured mounting system packages are only a small sample of the many options we have available. Contact the PQS sales team if you need a custom mounting system designed specifically for your application.
Currently we do not offer pre-configured packages for Counter Top, Under Counter, Ceiling or Pole mounting as more than 90% of all KDS screens are are supported by shelf edge mounts.
However, we do have an excellent selection of individual components for Counter Top, Under Counter, Ceiling or Pole mounting. These individual components are available on our website.
Please visit our website www.practicalqualitysystems.com and/or contact the PQS sales team if you need a custom mounting system designed specifically for your application

KDS Mounting Systems
Overview
-
The best mounting systems for KDS systems are task built for use in the harsh environment found in commercial kitchens.
-
A good KDS mount allows the screen position to be easily adjusted and securely locked by users without tools.
-
The best KDS mounts will have arms that allow multiple axis’ of height and side to side adjustment.
-
Any operator that is considering implementing a KDS system is strongly advised to understand the differences between task built KDS mounts and consumer grade mounts.
Problems with Consumer grade screen mounts
-
There are many types of VESA compatible screen mounting systems that are designed for home and office use which are available for very low costs. These mounts are simply NOT properly designed to be installed in a kitchen environment.
-
Consumer grade VESA mounts do not work well with touchscreens or touch terminals because they do not keep the screen from moving when it is touched. They require a second hand to steady the screen and this greatly reduces the benefits of using a touchscreen.
-
Any type of VESA mount that uses a clamping type of "ball joint" for screen pan, tilt and side to side biased position adjustment is guaranteed to fail and become loose over time largely due to the ingress of airborne oil and other liquids.
-
Consumer grade VESA mounts often require special tools to adjust the screen pan and tilt positions. KDS users require mounts that adjust and lock into position without tools.
-
Consumer grade VESA mounts usually have a thin painted finish that will not hold up to the effects of oils and acids which are always present in commercial kitchens.
-
We have only seen a consumer grade VESA mount work acceptably for KDS when it is supporting a large screen flat on a wall and used solely for display purposes.
-
Consumer grade VESA mounts often have a simple mounting base which will NOT allow attachment to shelf edges which is where most KDS screens are attached.
